Earned something?
I was wondering that what am I going to see in this course and tutorial class? First of all, for me, briefly we met with ancient Greek drama and varieties. We are able to recognize some features of the drama in early, middle and modern drama. And also now we now stage, character theme and so on features are in our mind. The important thing in this course is now we know how we can rejoice in drama for teaching. For example we are able to exploit drama, play shortly literature teaching English. We don’t just learn what drama, theatre, character so on is, we also learn how we can use this art to teach English. This is an important element for teaching.
At the beginning of the course my first impression was not really good for the course but day by day I start to discover new side of the drama or theatre and I got to know how important it is. In the class for example we learn to analyze a play. We spent nearly more than one month for Oedipus play. During this time we did learn many things. We are able to identify character, theme, and other features of drama such as what is the irony and where it occurs in the play what is moral value. Other than this we also read some short plays from now read on. In tutorial class also we found chance to act these plays. We were divided into the groups and choose one character to perform. Taking action is important to feel real essence of the play. Some of the short plays were quite interesting and enjoyable, I also enjoy during the actions. The ring doesn’t fit, the ring, selfish Mr. Pederson were some of the interesting texts. When I took those text and we were asked to read and contribute which is good, why? and which is not, why? At first I was asking myself why do we read and analyze, what is the purpose of it, but now I got a good idea now, it is really helpful and important to teach as a material or an art. At the begging I was considering this course extra burden headache among all busy subjects, but now whatever we learn are really useful for us.

Is theatre still alive or out of date...
Is theatre still alive or out of date...
As a beautiful art of course theatre is one of the important entities of our life. Old theatre or new one still alive and even not too many but there are still some individuals those who really love it interested with this art. In the past, theatre was one of the affectionate entertainment way and artistic show existed in peoples’ life. May be that time there was no laptop, cinema, TV, PC or internet to make people busy. That is why demand on theater was quite much. But now we have such new inventions which are really make us busy in the life, of course it doesn’t mean that theatre is out of date. These new inventions still cannot replace the place of theatre. Whatever it is we find something different. We still need theater to feel and live something that we can’t do our self. Sometimes we want to say something what we feel about or imagine which is impossible to do in real life can be found at stage. Many people affected from the plays because there is something hidden in it which is similar with his own life. Theatre will not be out date since human being live. It may not be fit in every ones’ life but it doesn’t mean that theatre is useless. For me even there is only one audience left for theatre i can say theatre is still alive. But we see that all over the world and in many countries there is valuable affinity to the theatre. So theatre is still not out of date yet.

the secret love life of ophelia
Ohh Ophelia...
It was a normal day for me... I started the day with 73 years old joyful taxi deriver’s story which is about his ‘girl friend’ and their love... if his life written in to a play, it would be more interesting than the secret life of Ophelia. Anyhow, until I could buy the ticket I didn’t know the name of play. When I heard that title “the secret life of Ophelia” I start to imagine the play as if like there would be a huge playhouse and it would be like a cinema saloon and also too many actors.
However we entered to the play and i found a quite small place and close fitting down stage and 2 people. The stage was kind of plain place. After the entrance door closed, the actress start her action after hamlet came in to the stage. It was not what i expected in terms of time, stage design costume, size and number of character. Nevertheless music of the play was authentic and affecting the audiences.
Play was new version of the hamlet; I mean hamlet was the 21th century’s character. During play characters were sending letters and instant messages and sms. Moreover to this hamlet was using iPod and laptop to chat and to send message to his beloved love Ophelia. The story takes place in epistolary form, with little interaction between the infamous lovers (who are, in fact, the only characters). A successful play in which letters is the characters' only means of communication is a hard feat, and this attempt falls several feet too short.
Furthermore, language of the play was old classic English; therefore it was little bit difficult to catch up the characters. But play actors’ actions were fairly realistic and original. One the action of the hamlet was really hot and erotic. Actually most of the play’s dialogs were quite erotic and passionate. During the phone dialog of the two characters hamlet start to be horny and start to play his stuff. Ohh my dear God, audience became shock, especially females. Moreover he exactly used his hand to satisfy his desire and it was really realistic and funny. I enjoy during this phone dialog. Because whatever they do it was quite original.
I cannot say that it was not good, but i might say that during the play in five minutes i felt sleepy. For me it was a bit boring play, I think it is because the play was 2 persons on stage. If there would be more players and different scenes may be it would be more enjoyable. But at least we got another experience by watching this kind of play. Even if we are interested or not with such theaters i think that there is still something for everyone to pick up some experiences.
