i was the last person doing simulated teaching in our class. everything was not really good may be during my teaching but i feel so relax when i was teaching. i was not really tension or confused. i hv experienced simulated teaching in other classes but for drama one i was quite OK. there were some weakness in my simulated teaching, such as i was so fast when i was telling and proceeding from task to task. if i do it in a real class teaching, most probably most of the students may not follow me. ithink it is because i act as usual during teaching, i mean i speak fast so i dont maintain my speed of talking. however i found that im not good enough following the time. my time managemnent was not really fix. if i compare my teaching with other classes i almost do the same mistakes, i cannot use the time according to my plan. nevertheless i feel i need to improve my language more but it wont be problem, if i prepared well before go to teaching i may overcome to this weakness.whatever it is, even if i had weakneses or mistakes during my simulated teaching, i still learn something, because some people learn by doing mistakes or from their mistakes. on the other side i had some strengths on my teaching. i was able to control the class easily, and my set induction was quite different than others. i started to lesson by telling an anecdote and i think all students were interested with the topic and pictures. and i think also i could linked it to the pre-reading stage. students were quite clear about what they will do during the lesson.. my exercises were not really much different than others but students were not really bored doing them.
however each simulated teaching gives m,e new inspirations and i gain new experiences. in amali class we got too many opportunities to improve our selves of course with help of miss Kasthoori. thanks for encouraging us as a teacher.

i also done my simulated teaching at the same day as yours. i feel great as miss kastoori said my set induction was good (thank you to you =.=), but when she said my activity eas not good enough, it quite make me sad.. looking at your teaching, yup, you seemed relax, and i wish i could do that...
ReplyDeletemerhaba!
ReplyDeletejust want to let you know that i was entertained with your simulated teaching material. i like the fact that you could attract students' attention with stories like yours. the picture of the chain and the ancient city did help a lot. you seemed relaxed when you were teaching. it would help you a lot in the later semesters.
Yes, Mehmet. I totally agreed with you that people learn from mistakes. I've learnt a lot from my mistakes in my simulated teaching too. There is no doubt for sure that everyone has its own strengths and weaknesses. Nonetheless, I am very attracted to your simulated teaching of giving an anecdote and story telling, but perhaps the story could be a bit shorter. So, good work, Mehmet! Keep the good, throw away the bad. Cheers!
ReplyDeletewish best to all of us,,, kick the bads
